Early morning
Mum was here really early this morning; didn’t complain mind as it meant breakfast….yum yum yum!
It looked like she was in a rush and threw my pretty green rug on that she only puts on me when we’re off in the big box with wheels. Ohhh and there it was just coming in the gate…. and OH OH it smells like my little friend Sparky is on board!
Off we go
Yep…we were definitely off somewhere as I saw Daddy putting my hay net in the box and mum is walking me towards the ramp. I like going in the box; my favourite thing is to bang the sides all the way with my hoofs and it makes great noises that Sparky loves to listen to.
And then we were off….’bang bang’ off we go … ‘.bang…. bang…. bang’.
At the Show
When we stopped I heard mum’s voice outside and waited for my nice carrot that I always get when I’ve been a good girl in my box.
I saw lots and lots of other horses and ponies, little boxes and really really big boxes and loud voices coming from big metal cones in the air.
I got a nice brush and sprayed with funny smelly stuff that I’m not really keen on but mum seems to like it, then she got changed into her smart clothes and off we went to play with other ponies.
We went into a ring with lots of other ponies that looked a bit like me and had a bit of a trot ….. although mum couldn’t keep up with me. I just wanted to show the boys my best moves.
Anyway after I had done by best to look beautiful we were all put in a line, mummy was told that I needed to loose a bit more of my fluff that keeps my tummy warm and that I would look much smarter. I like my fluff; it keeps me warm when I am in my field all day and night.
I got a pretty purple ribbon and mummy looked really please with me and gave me a big cuddle.
Scary Thunder and Lightning
While we were all waiting to play in a ring with other ponies there were some scary noises from the sky and flashing lights. I was so scared and so were lots of other ponies around me. Then lots and lots of water fell from the sky and there were even more crashes and scary lights.
Sparky was so brave and tried to keep me calm along with Mum, Dad and Sparky’s Mum Charlie. But it just got so scary that I couldn’t help but stand up on my back legs as I though those scary lights were going to hurt me. After a while I realized that it was going to be ok but it was sooooooooo scary.
Prizes – Second Place – Best Conditioned Horse/Pony at Grass
After a while all the noises, lights and water stopped and mum started getting me ready for more play times in a ring with more ponies. All the water had flattened my big fluffy hair which mummy seemed pleased about as she combed it all over onto one side.
I knew that mummy wanted me to be on best behaviour so I held my head high and did my best walk and trot in front of the ladies in the middle of the ring. There were lots of different colour, shape and size horses and ponies in the ring and they all looked very smart.
When I had done my best for the ladies watching me in the middle I was lined up in second place in front of lots and lots of other horses and ponies. This time I got a pretty blue Rosette, mummy got some money and we have qualified for the Royal London Show.
Mummy looked so pleased with me and had a big smile on her face. Apparently I was the 2nd best pony that lives in a field all the time.
Home Time
After all that excitement I was very tired so mummy decided that it was time for me to go home. I decided to let Sparky snooze on the way home so didn’t make hoofy music for him.
Sparky’s mum was very pleased with him today too as he managed to keep all his feet on the ground and decided not to give everyone a flying lesson like he did last time we went out together. He is even younger than me so gets really excited on days out but I really like Sparky; he is really nice to me (although he keeps trying to kiss me) and I am looking forward to our next day out together.
