I have a 6yr old mare, TB x WB, 16.1hh, who came out of work last feb as she had a shattered stifle & needed to recover. I backed her last week for the first time since then with only doing loose schooling, lungeing & long reining for 6weeks prior to this. She was as good as gold all 3 times. She has only been ridden in the school so far but is due to go out on a long hack saturday with a girl whom is helping me at the moment (an ex racehorse breaker).I am moving very quickly to Peterborough from Cambridge (probably on friday-very late notice).I need someone who can bring her on & help her as she is behind from all her time off. I need someone who is not botheres about doing ground work with her as she will need lungeing & long reining still at the minute as well (if not more) that riding to get her fit again. - I'm not too fussed about stable duties but if you would do them when you ride that would be a great help.I need an experienced rider as she can be spooky (although saying that she has been very good since backing her this time round - but this is in an enclosed indoor arena rather than in the open which of course may make a big difference. She used to hate going out alone so this is something I want to correct.I am looking to take her to Sissons Farm which is a very well known yard where Burley horse trial tryouts are held (and we know the owner). They have 2 schools & a lungeing arena. Plenty of hacking so you will always have scope to ride. Also they hold schools there & shows so you have the chance to compete if she is able. There are many small yards around too which hold baby shows which I think would be great for her. Ie- Give it a go dressage & mini working hunter classes. You need to understand though that Honey was in a bad accident though - hence the shattered stifle so she needs to take things a little slow & I am not sure whether she will ever jump again, but I want to be positive as the vets said she may never walk again & now she's back in work so she is proving them wrong already. She really is a lovely horse, very sweet & extremely pretty girl. If you are interested please contact me & we can meet up once I've moved & you can see whether you'd like to take her on.
Kindest Regards
Tricia
